ALL-STARS
Selection
of Managers / Coaches:
1. An All-Stars steering
committee will be formed consisting of the league President, the Chief Umpire
and at least three other board members.
This committee will have the responsibility of accumulating and assessing
all the information they feel is needed to choose the All-Star team managers,
and to oversee the process.
2. Managers or Coaches
who wish to be considered as an All-Star team manager should submit a letter of
interest to the committee.
3. The steering committee
will review the applications received, and will make recommendations to the
president. The president has the
responsibility of reviewing All-Stars manager recommendations, revising
if so desired, and then presenting to the Board of Directors for approval.
4. The All-Star Manager
may select his own coaching staff. This
staff must be submitted to the president for review. The President is to review the recommended
staff, make any desired recommendations and submit to the Board of Directors
for approval.
Players:
A written commitment letter (found on the website) must
be submitted to your regular season Manager before May 22nd, 2010 in
order to be on the ballot to receive votes.
All
league-age 11 and 12 year old Major League players are eligible for the 11 / 12
All-Star Team.
All
league-age 10 and 11 year old players are eligible for the 10 / 11 All-Star
Team.
All
league-age 9 and 10 year old players are eligible for the 9 / 10 All-Star Team.
All
league-age 13 and 14 year olds are eligible for Junior League All-Star
selection.
All
league-age 15 and 16 year olds are eligible for Senior League All-Star
selection.
Big
League All-Star program will be structured by District 2 representatives.
American
League and National League will field two separate All Star teams. Under special circumstances, the League
President may elect to request that the American League and National League be
allowed to form a combined team.
11/12 Year
Old All Star Team
The
11/12 year old All Star Team is made up of league age 11/12 year olds. Every
Majors Division player will vote for ten players from a list of potential
candidates, league age 11 or 12. The votes will be tallied and the top five
vote-getters make the All Star Team. Payers cannot vote for more than FOUR
players from their own team.
Every
Majors division manager will vote for the top ten 11/12 year olds. The votes
are tabulated and the five players with the top highest scores are selected for
the All Star Team. Managers can NOT vote
for players from their own team.
The
11/12 All Star Team manager gets up to three picks to fill out the team of 11
to 13 players, (i.e., to strengthen pitching/catching/fielding or even Team
Leadership). The All Star Committee and Manager will also be responsible for
breaking any ties that result from the balloting.
10/11 Year
Old All Star Team
The
10/11 year old All Star Team is made up of league age 10/11 year olds. Every
Majors Division player will vote for ten players from a list of potential

All Star Committee will be responsible for the confidential tallying of all
votes. Tallies will not be disclosed
under any circumstance and will be restricted only to the All Star
Committee. All Star Managers will be
given a blank list of the remaining eligible players for the All Star Team.
Players
and Managers voting for eligible players should be based on the following
criteria:
Teamwork
Sportsmanship/Attitude
Offensive skills
Defensive skills
Baseball
"smarts"
All
Managers and Coaches at the levels of play described above are asked to
evaluate their players throughout the season to judge their talent relative to
the others in their age group.
Player
Agents and League Directors will help the All Star Coordinator get ballots and
tally votes during the last week of May and beginning of June.
If a Player on the All-Star Team becomes unavailable after
announcement of the team, their spot on the team will be filled from the pool
of players that were nominated.
The list of players selected to each All-Star Team will be posted
on the GHLL website at the team roster announcement date and time. Under no circumstances should a player be
told their placement in the voting.
GHLL
Player Agent and All Star Coordinator will be responsible for re-verifying the
league eligibility of each All-Star player, and obtaining their original birth
certificate and three current forms of proof of residency.
