Board Meeting 12/7/06 7:00pm

Old Business
- Bill
Glover updated the Board on Rule Changes
- Teams
will bat entire order at Major League level and have free substitution
after meeting mandatory play of six consecutive outs
- Changed
7:30 game time limit to the same as the early games no new inning after
- All
12 year olds will be in the Majors unless they opt to play AAA or miss
tryouts.
- All
Board members must fill out Volunteer application and sign up to be a member
of GHLL($10)
New Business
- Bill
Glover reviewed the current registration levels. Discussion followed about
numbers trailing past years. We will be doing a mailer to remind previous
players that have not yet signed up and schedule another registration for
early January. Late registration
will be at the Hatteberg clinic on 1/27 and late fee will be charged for
LL players.
- Roy Kaldestad
spoke about the Hatteberg Clinic. Looking at 10 different stations during
the clinic plus the Swing Away Rep.
1. Curt Morford will put information in
the gateway about the Clinic.
2. Registrations
forms ready tomorrow.
3. Location Peninsula
H.S. Aux. Gym on January 27.
4. Board
Members will be delivering posters to all the area schools.
5. Took
volunteers for working on the Hatteberg clinic so that the committee could meet
more often as the date approaches.
- Snack
Shack….We will advertise in the Gateway for a third party to run the snack
shack.
- Bill
Glover announced March 3rd will be the date of our breakfast at
Chapel Hill. Curt Morford will post on
the website
- Parent
Meeting… do we want to have one or not? Gary Gallinger and Brian Horton
volunteered to work on this project.
- Brian
Horton talked about a two day training clinic for new umpires. He is
planning on bringing in GHLL Regional Umpires to provide the training. He
will need a few teams to play scrimmage games to help the rookie umpires
get trained. Brian will also work
up a planned proposal to utilize AAA/Majors umpires to cover AAA
games. This will be a requirement
for this years Managers.
Note: Considering that league would pay for umpire’s jersey either
after they have completed training or after they have completed a set amount of
games.

Bill Glover discussed new proposed rule changes
to be voted on next Executive Board meeting.
a. Re-instate
AAA standings.
b. Rule
about replacing a hitter after 3 hit batters

Gary Gallinger
updated us on alternate field use. Gary
will work to get us an estimate on possible revenue per tournament and a fee
schedule to determine how/if we will offer the field for rent. Brian Horton will try to contact Regional LL
representative so we can discuss possible insurance issues.

JR/Sr players will stay on the same team.

Late fee changes will be $30 for GHLL from $50,
none for Jr/Sr
·
Work Party will be December 9 at 9:00am.

Pitch in for Baseball….bring in old equipment to
the meet the Manager breakfast. Tom Taylor will look at this for us and report back
at the next meeting.
Next Board meeting will be held on January 4, 2007 at 7pm at
the Ray Nash Fire Station.
