GHLL Volunteer Board Meeting Minutes

Old Business

·        Bill started the meeting talking about the great job Roy Kaldestad and all the volunteers did on the Hatteberg Clinic for GHLL.
Roy is planning on continuing as Director of Scott Hatteberg Clinic. He sent out a survey to the volunteers to find improvements for next years’ clinic.

·        Bill requested that all volunteers get their GHLL Volunteer applications in.

·        Bill Glover spoke about buying the umpires shirts for those Parents that go through the umpire training for the upcoming season.
* No training site chosen yet.

 

·        Meet your manager meeting will be Friday night March 2nd.
Parent meeting will follow. Discussion followed about what was needed to be presented at the Parent meeting.

 

·        Bill Glover announced Mike Ditter was appointed to Director of Single ‘A’ & T-Ball

 

·        Tryouts this Saturday Kurt Carlson said equipment is ready. Les Schwab pitching machine will be at the try-outs as a Fundraiser for Kai Perkins, a former GHLL player. $5 for 3 pitches.

 



·        Bill Glover announced Rule Changes:

o       Reinstated AAA Standings

o       No Rule made about 3 hit batters

o       All Twelve year olds will go in Majors draft plan for 2007

 

·        Bill Glover announced we will follow the same program for the Majors Draft that was previously done two years ago.

·        Bill Glover spoke about T-ball and how the teams will be set up.

T-Ball has 51 players   (some on the waiting list)
Single ‘A’ has 86 players
Double ‘A’ has 148 players
Triple ‘A’ /Majors has 256 players
Juniors has 64 players

·        Ron Brentin spoke about the Snack Shack. We will be putting out a letter to possible service vendors to bid on running the Snack Shack. Volunteers discussed different ideas for who could run the snack shack.

 

 

New Business

·        Bill Duppenthaler, area leader for Young Life, spoke about his ideas for GHLL, youth sports and how we can improve our community through sports.

·        Shawn Hanon spoke about the status of Sponsorship’s.

·        Joe Guinn spoke about the Golf Tournament and improvements we want to make to this years Golf Fundraiser.

·        Terry Koberstein announced that she needs 24 tables for the Meet the Managers Meeting.

 

·        Bill Glover spoke about Pitch, hit and run.
We are looking for a volunteer to run this program.

·        Kohl Larson showed samples of the products he will be selling for GHLL Fundraiser at the Meet the Managers Meeting, Try-outs and Opening Night.
*Pictures will be done at Gig Harbor City park this year.

 

·        Bill announced to the volunteers leadership to start delegating decisions and taking questions to the appropriate Board Member.

 

·        March 4th is the next clean up day. Mounds need work.

 

·        Bill Glover announced the changes to the fields that the Executive Board passed. (Fences & Gates)
