GHLL Volunteer Board Meeting Minutes
Old Business:
Bill Glover, President, started the meeting discussing the last 30 days of success’s and items of completion.
Brian Villa spoke about the Work Party and Field needs. Nets still need to be
completed. Next work party on March 17.
Ron Brentin spoke about Pen Light donating the lights to our parking lot for safety and security (cost $3200).
Terry Koberstein did a great job with this years Parent
meeting.
The new format worked really well. Discussed using the gym next year so we could do all at once.
New Business:
Executive Board passed following rule changes:
1. We will have Majors and AAA City Championship Tournaments (June 15) and will not have Regular Season city Champioship games
2. We will be keeping separate standings for cross over and league games at Majors/AAA and only League games (National v. National, Amer v. Amer) will count in the seeding for the tournament.
3. Each player must start ½ of the games in the field that they attend. No change to AAA/AA players having to play at least 3 innings per game in the field.
Bill Glover spoke about the District Meeting Highlights.
- Two Leagues growing in the area Bainbridge LL and GHLL
- Home Depot helping other Leagues. Bill Glover asked Shaun Hanon to look into this.
- Bill Glover asked Dave Kilcup to look into having safety
kits in the dugouts
- NW Conference in October. We need to come up with a basket ($100) for
fundraiser.
- Constitution and Local Rules Adoption and submitted every year to LL.
Janette Ryan presented to us about action pictures for GHLL
during games
- Raising money for GHLL
- Possibly taking pictures of each team for two of their games.
Discussion followed about possible process and pricing which was left up to Janette to try out.
Umpire Clinic will be this Saturday 9:00 am (3/10) at GHLL fields rain or shine
KPLL has approached us about playing Interleague Games with
their Majors Teams.
Bill Glover will send out an email to Majors Managers to see who would like to
participate.
Bill Glover spoke about Jr/Sr current status:
- announced the New Managers for Jr/Sr teams
- We have four Managers for our four Junior teams.
- No decision has been made to whether we play other LL’s or
just play within GHLL
- Tryouts this Saturday (3/10)
Terry Koberstein spoke about Snack Shack being done by Young Life this year. Also, requesting our GHLL Managers to speak to their parents about any volunteers.
Bill Glover discussed Opening Ceremony Plans:
- We are looking for someone to sing the National Anthem
- Kai Perkins throwing out the ceremonial first pitch and Ben Weyemiller catching
it
- Leo Bundick’s All-Star team leading the LL Pledge
and Pledge of Allegiance
Comments were made that
Discussion occurred about tryouts. Joe Guinn would like Single ‘A’ tryouts split up next year. Also, have a designated leader for each league. Bill announced we will do tryouts on both Saturdays at Purdy.
Discussion followed about reducing the amount of T-ball and Single ‘A’ games in favor of more practices (fundamentals).
