GHLL Volunteer Board Meeting Minutes
Old Business:
·
Bill Glover, President, started the meeting thanking all the volunteers
for the great job at the Golf Tournament and Auction Dinner raising over
$21,000 for GHLL.
·
Bill Glover announced GHLL received $10,000 grant from the Cheney
Foundation to install overhead netting covering the GHLL spectator areas.
·
Terri Koberstein spoke about the All Star tryouts. Discussion followed
as to the pros/cons as to when to have the tryouts are best suited.
All Star tryouts and voting will take place on June 16.
Dena Weiss and
Curt Morford will manage the Coaching selection committee.
Discussion followed about having a Players vote for five(5) All Star candidates
as well as coaches choosing five(5). Terri Koberstein will craft a letter for
all the information to go out to all the Managers.

Julie Gustanskie and Laurie Crawford spoke about the PenMet Foundation
(Harbor Family Park 19 acres). $250,000 is needed to be raised by September 14th
to secure the field. Question about GHLL usage going forward-Rosedale/Arletta.

Brian Horton and Robert Young will be scheduling Umpires for the
Tournament. Dave Koberstein completed Tournament Rules and Brackets all will be
posted on the GHLL website.
New Business:
·
Bill Glover announced KP is interested in expanding their Junior League
with GHLL next year.
·
Bob Werner gave a presentation to the Volunteer Board on the next steps
to acquire New Fields for GHLL in the near future. Next step will be to get a
smaller committee together to move forward on this topic.
·
Maurice Hanks will manage Fall Ball with the help of other volunteers.
Maurice will present information about Fall ball to the Board during the June
meeting
·
Bill announced International Rule Changes
1. All shall bat during games at the Minors levels(GHLL
already does this)
2. All twelve year olds will play Majors(GHLL passed
this for 2007)
3. Players must play 60% of games to be eligible for All Stars
4. League boundaries are frozen as of 2007
5. Coaches from other organizations are OK to coach
all-stars

Bill asked that all volunteers monitor the fields for kids throwing
rocks and any other safety issues at the LL fields.

Local Rule Changes
1. There remains no time limit
on Junior games
2. There will be Tie games
allowed this season for GHLL since we are only using standings for tourney
seeding.
